Antiparos
The first things you see arriving at the port of Antiparos are the
picturesque fishing boats and a lot of cafes and taverns surround
the waterfront.
The paved alley is beginning from the port to the Venetian Castle which is the
traditional old village of Antiparos and the only village on the
island. The Castle is located in the central square near the
Cathedral of St.
Nicholas.
All the streets are decorated with whitewashed flowered courtyards,
hanging bougainvillea and geraniums and the walk on these streets
is the best thing that we could do. This village is about 500
years old
and it is visited without interruption.
There are many hotels,
apartments and luxury villas which are located mostly in
the port but there are a lot of them which are located thought the
island.
The highest peak of this island is the Prophet
Ilia.
The landscape is typically Cycladic: little vegetation and hills
with bushes that are lost in golden sands.
Beaches for
swimming
The diversity of the coastline of Antiparos
offers sandy beaches that have small coves with turquoise
waters.
Beaches that you can choose are Psaralikes and
Sifneikos,
Theologian and St. George.
The cave of
Antiparos

The famous cave of Antiparos, which made this island very famous is
located on the southeast side, just 9 km. from the port.
At the entrance of the cave there is a huge group of stalagmites which
are the oldest in Europe and dates back 45 million years. To see
more impressive stalactites and
stalagmites on its halls you have to descend the
411 steps
down to the cave.
What we felt; Excitement, awe and admiration for what has created millions years ago the nature in the bowels of Antiparos!
- Perhaps it's dinner time;
You can choose whatever you want. And all taverns here have the
traditional dishes that you must taste!
-This island really deserves to rent a small boat to reach to the
Despotic, to
tour around the silent and mysterious island that is situated
opposite to Antiparos.
It is like the island Dilos where a lot of
sculptures.
On it is only one resident remains - a herder and goats!

Do not miss to trip to the sea caves. Captain George
and his boat "Sheepshead" is always willing and helpful to guide
you to places that you do not expect to see ... sea caves and
virgin beaches....
Can you remember that you have ever seen such a beautiful
landscape?
The rocks of Cyclades.... the unique color of the sea..... so blue
that looks like... heaven!
But if you think that
we have told you all about this island, you're wrong!
Antiparos holds many well-hidden secrets and invites you to
discover them...
