In Avgonima, a village in the municipality of Omiroupoli, in Chios, built in the 11th century and lying in the central part of the island you can find "Spitakia", traditional little cottages, apartments and rooms, which have been meticulously restored in full accordance with the architecture of the area.

There is a peculiarity met in all medieval houses: as they were built in the times of pirates, the windows are usually very small, castle type.  This, on the other hand, is an advantage as heat or wind do not hit the inside atmosphere of the house making it cool during hot summer without any air-conditioning needed.

Spitaki 1

1 double, 2 single beds and a 1,9 m long sofa in the living room

The house has two separate bedrooms one of which is separated by the door.

It is located in a quiet neighbourhood in Avgonima village in Chios, next to Spitakia 1,2 & 4 and consists of a ground floor and an attic where one of the bedrooms is located.

Suitable for two couples a group or a family of up to 5 people

Spitaki 3

Located on an upper floor and an attic. The house consists of 2 separate bedrooms without visual contact. There is a double bed, 2 single ones and a sofa. A bedroom with 2 single beds is at the attic.

Spitaki 4

The house is located on the ground floor. The house consists of 2 bedrooms separated by the door. There is a double bed and a 2,4m sofa.

Suitable for a group or family up to 4 people.

Spitaki 5

The house consists of a ground floor and an attic where a bedroom is located. There is a double bed and a 1,9m sofa.

Suitable for a family of up to 3 people.

Apartment 1

The apartment is located on the 1^st floor of the municipal building ( old classrooms) at the square of the village. It views the square and has a large veranda shared with another apartment. The veranda is equipped with outdoor furniture and is very nice. The apartment consists of 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and another one with 2 single beds.
