Zakynthos
The island of Zakynthos (or Zante) is known to all

Zakynthos is the southernmost island of the Ionian Islands and is
situated on the south of Cephalonia and west of the
Peloponnese.

Laganas in the south, with a big, spectacular beach, 5 km long!

SHIPWRECK
The most famous and most
photographed beach in Zante!
Located on the north side of the island, beach access is only
possible by boat, but you can go by car in a special balcony that
has been built and you can admire the magnificent view from
above.
Be enchanted by the
white sand and clear turquoise waters!
This place named
"Wreck" because on this beach in 1983 a ship
that carrying contraband cigarettes persecuted by the Coast Guard
and was wrecked at this point of the coast.
Distance from Zante Town to this place is about 30 km, this is 45
minutes. Drive away from various parts of the island you can get
the boats organized tours to Shipwreck.
BLUE
CAVES
The Blue Caves are located in north
of the island these are one of the best sites.
The only way to go there is by boat, you can either rent one or go
with one throughout the island and make frequent.
The closest point to the Blue Caves is the port of Agios Nikolaos,
near the village Volimes, on the north coast of
Zakynthos.
XIGIA
The Xigia is located on the north
side of the island and is known with its spa!
The water of the beach Xigia contains sulfur which gives it the
status of natural spa. Thanks to this advantage the water is good
for the skin, removes cellulite, and relieves arthritis, rheumatism
and various other properties beneficial to our health.
The beach is accessible by car and there is parking nearby. It is a
small and secluded beach ideal for quiet and relaxing
moments.
Byzantine Museum of Zakynthos
The museum contains a superb
collection of icons dating from the Byzantine era, and carved
wooden screens, murals, sculptures from the Hellenistic, Byzantine
and post-Byzantine period. The museum is even a detailed model of
the town of Zakynthos at the period 1930-1950.

The nightlife of
Zakynthos is exciting and has much to offer.

You will find countless bars and nightclubs, with different kinds
of music, dancing and all kinds of drinks and cocktails. The
nightlife of the island is concentrated in the famous seaside
resorts of Argassi, Laganas, Alykes and Tsilivi. In the city of the
island there are many clubs and bars, many restaurants, taverns and
cafes.

How to get to Zakynthos:
BY
PLANE
The
international airport
Dionysios Solomos is 4 km from the town of Zakynthos. The
island has daily flights to the new Athens airport "Eleftherios Venizelos",
flying with the Olympic
air. Flight time is approximately 45
minutes.
- Also, a large number of charter flights arriving in the summer
months.
- There is no bus service to and from the airport.
- The carriage of passengers is by taxi.
BY SEA
KYLLINI -
Zakynthos
The Island is connected by ferry to the port of Kyllini, located on
the northwest coast of the Peloponnese. There are at least 4 daily
routes. The distance is 18 nautical miles and the trip takes about
1 hour.

COACH
ATHENS - Zakynthos
The buses
operate daily to the port of Kyllini, located on the northwest
coast of the Peloponnese. The distance from Athens Kyllini is 286
km and the trip takes about 3 hours and 30 minutes.
